Clutch disc questions

Post by zoom » Tue Nov 08, 2011 9:08 pm

Currently in the middle of a 64 ca77 resto. This bike was a barn find and came in pieces. I have zero experience on rebuilding engines, but I can learn. Got Bill Silver manuals and this form to go on. I am currently putting the clutch back in. I have 5 friction discs all measuring 4mm. And they look glazed. The first thick steel plate measures 2mm. There were no clutch plate ring stoppers in the clutch. My clutch springs measure at 35mm. So the question is what do I replace them ( friction disc) with and do I need the ring stoppers (2) and does the spring length sound in spec? Any input is appreciated. Thanks
Best place to get new discs, etc.
