Nice looking bike! I used the Bill Silver engine repair book and it has excellent information. As for the parts, some parts are harder to find than others. Ebay is always a great place to start.

Here's a website that I've obtained a few parts from

http://www.classichondarestoration.com/index.php

Also, I've ordered some items from here,

cmsnl, does take a white to get the parts. Also, Ive heard that Ohio Cycle is a great source but I have never ordered from them. Again, gorgeous bike. Enjoy it!

CA77 vs CA78

Post by conbs » Mon Nov 21, 2011 11:07 pm

I am not sure anyone knows for absolute certain what the difference is between CA77 and CA78 because there are a number of conflicts/errors in the Honda literature. But I believe CA77 is the early bikes with the early tank (no seam) with chrome side covers and rubber leg grips that are squared on the front. Also early shock mounts. Headlight bucket will not have the little aluminum "Honda" tag on it either. All of the controls on the handlebars are early as well.

CA78 began mid 1963 production year when they went to the late items for all of the above.
