What are the forums thoughts on the X swap for the CA77 Dream? I am at the point of putting the lower engine case on and would like to get some feedback on this issue. It seems to be well documented for the CB/CL bikes but not so much for the CA Dreams.
Thanks Everybody!

Hey, glad to see someone else from Montana on here.
I had the same question when I restored my CA77. People X the gears in the CL and CB engines because the rpm drop from second to third gear is a bit more than what they like. But it's no problem with the Dreams. I didn't worry about it and while riding, it seems just fine the way it is.

CA X-ing
Hey thanks for the reply. This is kind of what I suspected because it was made for city driving but just had to make sure. Was also wondering if anyone had done it to their Dream it might be interesting.
Yes . . . nice to see another Montana Dream enthusiast. I have 4 of them now. Two are stripped down Cleaned and inspected ready for restore. I’m building the engine on one of them now so thought I would ask before I button the two cases up.

Cool. I have quite a few Dream parts that I'd be willing to give (free of charge) you if you have any interest. Really, it's all just taking up space that I need right now and I plan on moving in the near future anyway. I make it over to Missoula quite often. Let me know and I can come check out your bikes and possibly drop this stuff off if you want it:)
