It's three pics of two bikes...
The red one at the top is the same white one below it, after paint, obviously. Did it with a $14 Harbor Freight HVLP gun and a quart of Rustoleum Gloss White. I think it came out pretty well.
The blue one is another work in progress. The the pic of the blue bike is how it looked when it came to me, before I painted it. It now has several coats of Duplicolor Midnight Blue on it. I'll have to get a new pic of that on here next, but I haven't taken any of the freshly-painted blue one yet.
Over the summer, I was experimenting with the pros and cons of what paint to use, and how to use them, so I tried the Rustoleum White on the red bike, and the Duplicolor Midnight Blue on the blue one.
And IMO, the next bike I paint I'm just going to use Rustoleum or Krylon; it's a lot easier to work with than Duplicolor, it comes in spray cans which I find a lot easier to use, the orange peel is kept to a minimum, and there is literally a rainbow of colors to choose from, unlike Duplicolor, which is also rather expensive at $25 a quart versus, what...? $8 for Rustoleum? It took me three coats of Rustoleum, versus three QUARTS of Duplicolor to get the shade I wanted, and I also used Duplicolor primer, too(more $$).
And believe it or not, the Rustoleum seems to be more durable. Plus, Rustoleum makes a lacquer, too, which is nice to work with, but I haven't yet.
