Think I'm missing some parts!

When I took my carb off to clean it, I noticed the fuel line that's connected to it didn't look right. There's nothing clamping it to the carb. It's just a little brass tube sticking out of the end of the line going into the carb. I looked at the parts manual and it looks like I'm missing some things! I don't have any of the parts shown in the manual. I don't know what the brass tube is sticking out, but I just wanted to check before I ordered the parts. It doesn't say what size that nut is either.

The DREAM carb has a threaded part at that location.

Kigsby, the little tube end in your fuel line needs to be removed from the line and pressesd into the small opening just above the carb bowl that is shown in your picture.tap it in lightly with a small or soft hammer.it is just a press fit with no mechanical device to hold it in. The picture you posted from the parts manual has what is called a banjo fitting which is for a different carburator than yours ....jk

If the connection is a factory press-in fit of the fuel nipple into the carb body, you should:

a) clean the nipple, and the receiving socket in the carb, ..degrease
b) afterwords, tap the nipple in - lighly with a soft wooden block,
c) then - This is Important - apply some Locktite Green (only the Green for this application) and
d) allow the sealant to cure for 24hrs at room temperature (if cold then longer).

Locktite Green is a wicking sealant. It is the weakest of the most common three (Red, Blue, Green), but will likely prevent that tube from ever coming out again.

Do it right and it will be fuel tight and secure forever. Do it wrong and you'll need heat to break the bond.

HMMMMM......could that be the reason you are having air filter tube issues???

Also,,,maybe wrong jets and float level?

Hmmmm, indeed. Didn't somebody ask if the correct carbs were installed when the filter tube issue was raised. Hmmmmmm.....

It's getting frustrating when my parts and service manual doesn't match the bike I'm trying to fix up! My library of books is growing everyday trying to find info that matches the bike. I guess alot of these parts were interchangeable so you just don't know what you have (well, maybe you do, but I don't!) I thought something was off when I read in the engine repair guide that the older carbs don't have a screw to drain the bowl and this carb had a screw. I thought it was the right carb, just a newer model. This may very well be why my air tube didn't fit! I'm wondering about the jets now. I'm going to get some green locktite and take it back off and double check the jet sizes. I bought a rebuild kit, but ended up unclogging and using the old jets because the hole sizes in the kit looks different. So what carb is this? What size should the jets be and what should the float be set at?
