Another good idea! I will measure the carb snout and post pics of it tonight. I'm curious to know what carb it is (and worried about what else the PO may have done!) The engine was running well. I only took the carb off to clean and inspect it as part of my tune up list (new plugs, change the oil, new cables, lube, etc).

OK....the 22 mm Dream (CA) carb (late square type) measures 3.45" front to back.

The 22 mm dimension is the inside diameter of the bore at the engine end of the carb.

The center-center of the mounting studs is aprox 48mm.

I don't know if there is any significant difference between the round bowl and square bowl types or not.

My parts book doesn't even show there are 2 versions.

OK....I took off the carb and it has a stamp that says C77B and PW22. The jets are 120 and 35. Pics attached. So I guess it's not an upgrade to a PW26 (which I guess is good so I don't have to worry about what else was "upgraded"). The snout measures about an inch. Are the jets correct? Should I work with it or order the correct carb for a Dream?

It's 3 1/2 inches from the tip of where it connects to the air tube to where it connects to the cylinder.

oops my mistake!!! There's not that much difference in length.

However....the carb size and jet sizes are correct for a Dream, so it might not be all that bad.

What is the number stamped on the needle? It should read 22401 for the dream.

One riddle solved! That's just the length the tube was short. The number on the needle looks like D3.
