Pooped out again today. Clogged petcock - again.

Painted the new tank. It's going on this week.

Why am I posting this?

Answer - newbies please learn from my mistake! Make sure you have clean tank and petcock before you start. I wasted days and days on this problem, and it was rust all along.

New tank installed and working.

Seems to have resolved the fuel delivery problem, but I need to take it on a long ride to make sure.

New petcock is leaky - so that is more fun.

I don't think the round bowl baskets they sell in rebuild kits are as good as the beveled originals. I guess I can crank the bowl down, but I worry going too tight.

I am inclined to pull off the inline fuel filters off, as this tank is squeaky clean, and can't help thinking they inhibit fuel delivery. Anyone have concerns about riding "without protection?" :)

There is a little protection visa vis the screen in the petcock bowl. If the tank is clean I wouldn't worry so much. That said, I have an inline filter on mine and it runs perfectly.

Well, then I will leave the filters and see what happens.

If I still have slow fuel delivery, then I guess it has to be the Petcock.

Even with the new tank, I notice that the lines (which are clear) sometimes are not full, even with petcock on.

If I pull them off, the spouts run full gas.

I assume that is normal, but if anyone thinks they should be solid full at all times with the petcock on, let me know.

I almost feel like maybe I have the dreaded vaporlock issue with the cap.

Need to search for posts on how to drill another hole.

Could it be that the cork in the cock is cocked? Thereby limiting fuel flow?

Yikes. I hope there is no cork. I am on a cb77.

I think the only parts I have are the four part rubber gasket, the gasket for the bolt, the bowl gasket, and the warped washer.
