Well, after doing a little checking, the earlier seat has a diff need erent contour than the later seat. I need the earlier pre-63 chrome strip, not the later stainless version. Thanks, Paul

Paul, I believe that the seat is one of the items that Honda changed in the transition from CA77 to CA78. If I am correct, you need the trim from a CA77 frame numbered bike. Please let us know what you find either way.

It changed for both the CA72 and CA77 (and my CS72) in 1963. The bend in the trim is quite different (I have a post 63 seat). The other way to tell the seat is early is that the front mount is closed and a bolt goes through to hold it on. Thanks for looking! Paul
