After stripping my side covers for repaint I noticed the LH cover had hemmed edges (Metal turned back on itself for a burr free edge) on the inside of the cover whereas the RH side cover had no hems on the edges.
Was this the norm?????
I've only seen the ones I have and not any to compare them to.
All of you CL77 owners, can you take a look at your's and let me know if yours are the same as mine?
Thanks,
Gary

My left hand cover has the edge hemed where it would come close to a stock air filter boot. The RH cover is gone.
Rob,
You have a 67 CL77 so I am still looking to see what year I have. My frame # is 1039721.
What is your frame #?
I don't have papers for my bike so I have no other way to identify it.

Side covers.
Thanks guys, Mine appear to be OEM covers, not sure if anyone ever made aftermarket replacements.
I seem to remember replacing one or the other some time in the 35 years I've owned the bike. Perhaps one was from a later year than 1965 or perhaps one is from a CL72.
I was just curious.
