Hi guys,
Tried to start the Scrambler the other day and when I kicked down on the kickstarter arm it made a clicking sound on the way down and then stayed in the down position, (see attached photo)
Now I can't pull it up into the normal position.
I'm thinking a buggered pawl on the end of the kickstart shaft where it engages the main gear,
Any of you have an experience with this or Ideas? I haven't attempted to dig into it yet.
Thanks,
Gary in Joplin.

Could be the piece, in the cover, that engages the splined end of the kick start shaft. They sometimes will split. If the shaft itself is still in good shape it will be an easy fix.

Kickstarter arm problem
Mike, you nailed it. Pulled the cover and the kick start knuckle was cracked in two places.
Looking for a replacement now. CA's and CL's used the same knuckle 28241-259-000.
Thanks for the heads-up.

Pretty expensive if you can find one. They occasionally come up on eBay.
They can be repaired by welding. There is a high stress area where the slot ends. This is where the crack begins.

Drill a hole at the end of the crack to stop it going any further. Grind out the meterial near the crack & weld back up.
