I just received a front fender I bought on eBay. It's a filthy mess so I started after it with a Brillo. Turns out under the sludge it's a chrome fender. I know these were made toward the end of the Superhawk's run so I'm not doubting it's authenticity based on that alone. Toward one end of the fender there's an engraved logo that reads 'Beck' and 'made in Japan'.
I'm assuming Honda fenders would be made by Honda, no?
I can't try it for fit until next Monday and if it isn't what it was sold to me as ( Genuine CB77 front fender) I want to start a dialog with the seller as soon as possible and see about getting my money refunded.
Anyone know?
'Beck' fender?
'Beck' fender?

Re: 'Beck' fender?
It isn't OEM as HONDA fenders don't have any stamped letters.
Not even Made In Japan.
It's a BECK ARNEY (spelling?) not HONDA. .............lm

You see this sort of thing a lot on ebay these days, some guy drags an old motorcycle carcass home and starts to part it out. Everything bolted to it is"genuine OEM parts". He doesn't know the difference, after all it was probably 20 years old before he was born, and why bother to do any research since he is just going to sell the parts anyway. After all it's ebay, and "buyer beware", all that matters is getting maximum profit. It kind of pisses Me off when I contact a seller to give him a heads up because the part he is hawking is actually an aftermarket piece and I am told" You don't know what you're talking about". I worked on these bikes, back in the day when they were new, I think I know a genuine part when I see one.

Mike, I agree that that sort of selling is rampant on eBay and is generally inexcusable. This time though I'm going to give this seller a pass.
The fender in question had been brush-painted black; the logo was completely obscured until I started cleaning. I held the fender next to my OEM fender and they're identical.
In fact, since this is a rider I'm just gonna go ahead and keep this one. Maybe I'll fill that makers mark before I paint.
