Hello from new member

Post by mmiiiiiz » Wed Sep 05, 2012 7:49 am

Hello,

I recently purchased a 1968 Dream, and am looking forward to enjoying this piece of history, and to following some of the interesting projects I've seen on the forum. There's about 10K on the clock, and while it starts right up, It'll need a little adjusting to smooth out some of the operations. Hoping that the warm weather here in NC remains for a while so that I can ride it a bit before I feel the need to take it apart...

Sorry, thought I did. Unfortunately for me (and my bike), my wrenching skills are on par with my computer skills...I think the photo I chose is too big for the upload, I guess I'll have to try a different method.

Why would you take it apart?

Actually, I don't think this bike needs "taking apart", but it does need a few things gone over. I'm entered in my first MotoGiro South in Alabama, as part of the Barber festival, and she could use a little attention. I've got some new tires coming, as these are fairly close to, if not original, as well as a replacement throttle cable and hand grips. Other than that, I think the bike is ready to compete. Not sure about the rider. It's only about 70 miles in the one day, so with any luck, I'll make the entire course without any issues. Since I'm relatively new to vintage bikes, I appreciate all the postings on this site, and I'll keep you posted on the race.
