need help quickly on correct battery cover

Is a battery cover for a 63 honda dream 305 the same as a 61? I know they changed shapes...............just not sure which years fit my 61. There is a black one on ebay if so. Thanks so very much.

It depends whether your '63 is an early or late one. The design changed for a number of parts in '63. Send pics of your bike and we should be able to help.

Linemup, What does your parts manual say? Mine says all the early ones are the same.

My '66 manual says the early battery was used up through CA77-1010862 which I am guessing would be in 1966. Left side cover changed with the new thicker battery.

The right side looks to have changed earlier at CA77- 1003391 ('65?), apparently when the slot for the clutch cable was eliminated with the change to the shorter cable.

The parts manuals notwithstanding, those are really CA78 frame numbers.
