Is that a 62 or a 63? I personally LOVE that style of Dream tanks. Of course I am a little biased :).
I have a 1963 305 that my husband restored for me. I did much of the shopping on ebay, and scored some major parts (including my tank) from someone who was parting out their bike from this forum. (thanks again Don). I bought my rusted out piece of a bike for $500, and I spent about $400 on paint, and heres the OUCH.... $1700 on chrome! Then parts here and there..... Id say I have about 3500 into my bike. Heres a picture of it below.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE MY BIKE, and I park it next to $30,000 Harleys and I always get the comments on how cool my bike is. So, the question is.... is it worth it to YOU??? I think so!

Is it worth it

timothy,

Apparently it IS worth it because you did it. It may not be as nice as Kellielynne's bike, but few are. Man! I drool over her bike every time I look at it.

That said, I encourage you to get your bike roadworthy and ride it as much as possible. There is nothing that will inspire you like riding it. Then start working on a small projects, one at a time. Carb cleaner and elbow grease will remove grime from the engine. Get some rubbing compound, polishing compound and carnuba wax and get after that paint. Even with dents and scratches you will probably be able to put a little shine on it. Flitz and elbow grease might add more shine to your chrome than you would expect.

Keep after it and enjoy it as much as you can. Don't plan to come out ahead financially, but do plan to have a lot of fun. That what makes it "worth it".

Here is timothys bike. Congrats on getting her running. if you want an opinion of what its worth. Roughly 800.00 to 1500.00 depending on the area you are in the country. i bought a really nice original dream 305 for 1600.00 last year.

Your dream will get more looks than a harley also :P

Timothys Dream (rough, but awesome at the same time)

I can't tell 100% like some can but it does appear to be an early bike. Mine is titled as a 63 also and is the old style bike.

That it runs is a big plus. I suppose it's because of the lower displacement but the Dreams aren't doing the money the larger CB's are. Ride one though and they get far more attention.

Early bikes are worth a bit more to me but Tango is likely in the general area as far as what it is worth depending on several variables.

u got a great deal there Timothy. a runner for 400.00 and looks pretty complete for the most part. when they run and they are old they get the looks no matter. Its awesome you got her running. and 61 is a nice earlier year bike. I think they came out in the late 50's if i remember right. 1957 i think?
