I've a Honda CB77 that belonged to my deceased Father-in-Law. When we were clearing out his garage, I wanted the motorcycle because as a kid I remember others riding this bike while I was on a minibike.
None of his children know much about it, except that it was parked in his garage for decades. While is it complete, it is dusty and rusty.
On the downtube for the front fork is the following:
CR77- 24271
On the engine case, left hand side is this:
CB77E 214279
Since I'm going to clean it up and make it run again, I'd like to start with knowing what I've got.
Then I'll need to figure out what books to buy. Do you have any suggestions on books also?
Michael

                    What Year Do I Have?
CR77? Really? You wouldn't happen to have any pictures of this bike that you can share, would you?
The reason I ask is that "CR" is a Honda race bike designation and is not something you should see on a normal street bike. It sounds like there may be a story here buried under all that dust and rust.

Re: What Year Do I Have?
CR (please look at the frame again) or CB (as I suspect it is) it's a 1962. ..........lm
