Oil kit installation
I am in the final stages of an engine rebuild and I have an engine oil seal kit I would like to install. What procedure do you use to remove the oil seals for the kick starter, output shaft and crank seal (behind the ac generator). I thought of a couple of ideas but, I am worried I may damage the existing seals and have broken pieces fall into the crankcase. Any suggestions?

reply oil installation
I should have indicated that this is only a top end rebuild. I know I can get them out, but at what risk?

Re: reply oil installation
Use anything with a sharp/pointed end and pry them out.
Be sure to to use a sharp tool (knife) and cut a 45 degree angle around the entire aluminum circle.
Add a SMALL AMOUNT of oil/grease to the edges of the seals and tap them into the hole keeping the seal as even as posible. ................lm
