hi all,i am in the uk and i have just joined the cb72 owners i bought a 1963 rolling frame with a cl engine i need some help, are the crankcases the same for both cl and cb engines if so will a 180 crank fit where a 360 was originaly and visa versa as i was given a top crankcase with a engine number cb 72e complete with a barrel and head to match i take it the 360* wont work with the cb72 top end so need to know if i can just fit a 180*crank straight in,regards.

360 degree crank

How did you end up with a 360 degree crank? CB and CL should both be 180.

The short answer is a 360 degree crank will fit if it is indeed a 250 crank. You just have to change the ignition system. But why not save yourself a lot of headache and just get a 180 crank?
