air passages in carb throat

Post by Ken184 » Tue Dec 18, 2012 7:42 pm

One of the Techknuckle pages (CB77) describes squirting carb cleaner through the 3 littleair passages in the carb air intakes, saying the cleaner should flow freely out of the idle and main jet openings underneath. That works fine for the outer hole and the middle tube, but the inner holes just spit back and when I insert a very small probe it indicates they aren't very deep. Can anyone enlighten me on what these inner holes do and where the air is supposed to go?

Not sure about the CB's, but the 3rd hole on the CA's goes nowhere.
