Great post. I have been using similar techniques to restore several CB77 speedos. The dials clean up really nicely with a sponge and soapy water. CB160 bezels fit perfectly but there is one model that has a very thin ring made out of a hard stainless and it will not stand the dismantling process. Fuji - I think.

I have bought some low temperature, 'press alloy' which I am going to use to take impressions off a good bezel so that I can use it in an hydraulic press to straighten out the bad ones. I've had no time for bike projects in the last couple of months but hope to get to that soon.

It's so satisfying to restore the un-restorable. Could you post a few pics of your glass-cutting techniques. I would love to master that one.....

G-man, you rule man! That all sounds great, I too find great joy in rebuilding the un-restorable. Post some photos of that bezel hydro press on this thread when you get it dialed!

Glass cutting to come!
