CA77 Carb start up problems

Post by hondadreamca77 » Wed Jul 31, 2013 4:33 pm

Hi,
Took my CA77 carburetor apart and cleaned, inspected and cleaned jets (the small one was clogged), and re-installed. Now when cranking it starts initially with low idle (good) but dies after about 5 seconds. I have checked and verified: positive fuel flow, petcock open, etc. Float measured aprox 1" height when I put carb back together. Once you get it cranked and hot, it runs and idles great...but goodness help cranking it. Thoughts?? Before cleaning it was one hit of button and purr......

Problem solved.....replaced O ring between carburetor and spacer block.
