At least when he states "pretty bike" it's probably the only thing stated with any actual truth. .............lm

Did you see the wiring harness coming up from the engine by the down tube? Scary...mike in idaho wrote:He still hasn't got the fork legs on the correct side, the rear shock bottom covers are still on the front too. I just asked him about the shock covers, wonder what kind of witty remark he's going to respond with.

I couldn't stand it any longer, I had to email the fella:
"Hi! Your Hawk is a striking bike with beautiful paint and chrome, but I couldn't help but notice some irregularities. The fork sliders are on the wrong sides; the headlight switch is backwards; seats on the red Hawks were black (there were never any original red seats), as were the center stands; the shocks aren't original; fenders were Cloud Silver and not chrome in 1966; no flatbars were installed in 1966; the taillight bracket should be black; the boot over the wiring harness coming from the engine (near the frame downtube) is missing; and what are those fork seal covers - they're not correct. The bike is pretty, no doubt, but it's not a "restoration", but a "resto-mod". How do I know? I've owned a Superhawk since 1971. To avoid problems, you might want to amend your description to state that it's a resto-mod. Good luck on the sale! ~~ Sara"
I wonder if he'll tell ME to eff off? :)
