I just counted my (broken) chain off of my 66 an it is 94 links. What does the 525 mean?

You should have 95 links and a masterlink to make 96.
Chains are measured in eigths of an inch,
520 is 5/8ths long and 2/8ths in width. (.25)
525 is 5/8ths long and 2.5/8ths (.3125 or 3/16ths of an inch.

On a 525 chain is the 2.5 measurement the width of the roller or is it the external width of the chain?
