snapped clutch adjust bolt

was tightening bolt after adjusting round clutch adjusting screw. bolt just spins and can come out. any suggestions on how to fix? Jim

You can replace the piece that the bolt screws into, or run a 1/4X20 tap through it and use 1/4 inch course thread allen head thread bolt in it.

That bolt goes to the "fork" that holds the adjustment in place. Just remove the right hand engine cover (fairly easy) and you should be able to remove the broken piece of the bolt and use a new bolt (If you can find a JIS bolt). I have purchased standard metric taps and generally will retap a hole for standard (ISO). The two are very close and it seems to work okay.

mine broke into 3 pieces when I tightened bolt.didn't know threads were already stretched , I think it had been over tightened before. I fabed a new clamp out of a 15/16 wrench . had to heat it and beat it, then grind it and shape a little, and finally tap 1/4 by 20 threads for new bolt. I also cooled in oil after heat-n-beat. didn't want to search just want to ride.
