CA95 Carb advice
I bought a really clean original CA95 from a friend of mine that sat since 1985, and other than the tank and carb needing a good clean, it seems to be in great shape. I've cleaned out the carb and it fired right up, but seems to race and won't run without the choke on. What's the air setting on the front screw? Is it 1 1/2 turns? Also wondering if it's the seal between the carb and the head... Thoughts?

carb idle
Paul, a stream of water from a spray bottle aimed at the carb base will tell you if it is seated well or leaking air. Any change in rpm will give you your answer. Rusty
Won't idle
Paul,
Make sure you can see daylight through the hole in the idle jet. The varnish that builds up in there is amazingly tough and can endure what will clean the rest of the carb. Not sure about a CA95, but, on the 250/305 a .010 guitar string will just fit to clean it out and is tough enough to do the job.
Because it sat for a while I would not be surprised to find more than one issue.
Hope that helps.
