torque for re-tightening the nuts and bolts on the case
arseatea
i knew someone would come up with the figures, i had an idea that they were around 15ftlb for the 14mm nuts and around 8ftlbs for the smaller nuts.
PhilD i know the brimstage bends well use to blast along that stretch myself on my CB72/77 in the late 60's early 70's, still do today on my CBR1100XX when i get down that way on the way to the Tap.

Any kind of lube on the threads will increase the bolt tension (about 20%) for the same torque, so you need to reduce the torque to get the same clamping force....arseatea wrote:Thanks to all for that info. At least now I can be confident that I am getting a proper torque where needed. Do any of you use liquid locknut on those nuts and bolts? I have some medium strenghth pucky that I thought about using, but now, not sure if it is a good idea.
