Sticky Clutch Plates

My '65 CA77 clutch plates stick together after sitting for a very short time. I can break them loose and everything feels fine. However, they stick back together very quickly. Recently, they will do it overnight. Any advice on cleaning them? I'd love to try the least invasive approach first but I'm willing to tear down the basket if need be. And if I have to take the clutch apart what is the best method of de-gunking them?

Well, lacking a better idea I've change from a 30 wt dino motorcycle oil to Mobile1 10-40 motorcycle oil. I'll run it for a while and report back.

yea, mine do that all the time as well. I've never found any way around it. Adjusted clutch for max throw, farted around with oils, pulled plates and cleaned them, replaced them. no go. so I just live with it. Doesn't get a hell of a lot of use so not the end of the world.

What type of friction plates are in your engines.
The sort of plastic or the aluminum core type?. ......lm

Since I've never been into the left side I don't know. After changing oil this weekend I've been riding it. Still, if I leave it for an hour or two the plates are glued back together. I can bump it in 1st and the engine will turn over or the tire skids as it's locked up that tight. I'm too curious and will have to pull the basket. I expect to wire brush the plates and will inspect and measure to see what I have. I have a vision that all the plates are stuck together except for one and a good cleaning will do it. Any suggestions at this time for de-gunking and re-oiling?

Parts cleaner and wire wheel.
If the friction discs are red sort of plastic replace with aluminum core. ............lm
