Hello. I have a 1965 CB77 and I would like to know the original thickness of the friction plates in my 5 plate clutch. My plates measure 3.65mm ?
Thanks Martyn

Those can be cleaned with parts cleaner or soap and water and be used longer. ............lm
Usually the steel plates have rust or dirt which can be cleaned with a wire brush or wire wheel on a bench motor.
Not to worry as to thickness because when your plates were issued no actual measurement was supplied for ware. ...........lm

Thanks for that, When I first got the bike I looked on the web for details of the clutches and I did see somewhere two different sizes quoted for the friction plates but I have not managed to find that since.
I also have a spare six plate clutch and the basket measures the same as the five plate but with the addition of an extra spring separator.
