Shock loop hitting headers??

Post by hotrodhendrix » Sat Apr 04, 2015 10:14 am

Strange issue where while on main stand its fine but on the ground the front shock loop hits headers on both sides not allowing it to turn? Bike isa 64 frame down rebuild and with bunch of parts so maybe different year headers? Hopefully you guys know what is going on.

one thing I would suspect is a bent front fork or triple tree. that loop should be a long way from the exhaust.

Can you move the loop with your hand? Are upper and lower shock bolts and rear loop bolts attached?

Pics are up on main stand. Sorry had to figure out how to post from phone lol. Stock pipes. The loop raises or lowers when compressed. All bolts are in as far as I know.

wrong pipes. the correct headers turn down closer to the engine and will be very close to the starter motor.
