countershaft diameter
countershaft diameterAccording to what I have found out, as I have been searching for a countershaft sprocket, is that Honda changed the countershaft dia. , and this was after S/N 1052546 [according to a parts manual with a revision date of Aug 1969]. I measured my c/shaft at 30mm [the 104xxxx bike], and my bikes are in the 10319xx and 10401xx range. Are my bikes considered early models? From what I have been told, Honda increased the c/shaft dia, due to failure. What is the other c/shaft diameter?
Re: countershaft diameterThey are the same all years.
The difference is the depth of the spline. The new one wasn't as deep as the original. Nice thing is new issue will fit/work with early shaft. The depth of that shaft and the trans and final drive shaft is that 350 engines used that depth so they made them all the same in LATE 1967. The parts books give the engine number for each design engine. ............lm
