Hello everyone,
My starter solenoid on my cb77 has a dead short through the ignition wires (the small ones). I'm trying to open the solenoid up, but it is clamped all around. Does anyone know if it is reparable?
Also - if I can't repair it, I'll need another. Any leads for new solenoids? Thanks!

Pretty sure that it comes apart but I haven't looked at one for a while.
Plenty of used ones on eBay.....

Thanks G-man. I really didn't want to go with a used unit.

Try a Google search for "Honda 35850-268-000". Ohio Cycle has them, but you're not going to like the $115 price tag. Still, it's cheaper there than at some other places. Consider buying a more modern and much cheaper Honda solenoid and adapting it to work. You might even be able to cut the case away from the bracket on your old one and use it with a new one.

I'm sure I could adapt one - in fact, I'll probably do that until i get an original. Loud Mouse saved me again with a unit I'll be purchasing from him. I'm trying to keep my ole Superhawk as original as possible. I have the original pipes, but still haven't gotten around to chroming them. As soon as I can get permission from the Mrs. ! Thanks everyone!
