Does anyone have 2 red rear shock covers for a CA77 they would be willing to sell?
I have recently had the lower metal parts re-chromed and the struts and upper mounts polished. When I tried to disassemble my red shocks I broke the plastic top out of the first one I tried.

Your best bet is to get hold of another pair of shocks to reclaim a cover. What did you use to dismantle them?
I made a simple compressor shaped to the cover and top fitting....

Shock Compressor
Thanks G Man,
I used a jig similar to the one you made. When I tried compressing the shock by tightening the nuts the shock compressed but the shaft did not protrude from the jig. Next I tried using the top portion of the jig on a hydraulic press and pushing down on the bottom of the shock with the press. That's when the plastic failed. I have since obtained two metal nos shock covers from an ebay vendor.
I don't know how this wound up in the superhawk section I meant for it to go in the parts wanted section.
