Thanks, I will check MCM out.
The tank fits nicely to stock mounts, and a 7lb wt savings on top. This is the SH that will see cafe mods to it.

For over 40 years I worked in Fibre Glass moulding and pattern making, in the 1960's I worked for Screen and Plastic Motorcycle add-ons we made tanks and a many many other items we always used Polyester resin with no problems BUT times have changed so has petrol (gas) with a lot of stuff in it that will damage polyester resin tanks.

I have used lots and lots of different resins over the years including epoxy and some that would withstand very corrosive acids, so if I had a FI-Glass tank made of polyester resin I don't think I would use it, but if you must then do seek expert advice first and do not take the first so called experts advice check with a lot first there must be a resin that will stand ethanol and anything else for that matter, maybe get in touch with the resin manufactures they all have labs one of the best way back was Scott Bader.

While I was at Screen and Plastic's in Birmingham UK I worked on the BSA/TRIUMPH works racers fairings/seats the tanks were made of alloy also the Norton Commando production racer yellow tanks and seats, we also had the Craig Vetter Rocket 3 tank and seat unit that had a steel tank inside, so many tales I could tell you I realy should put my motorcycling years in print.

The guy I bought the tank from races vintage MX, and suggested Caswell, as many vintage bikes had fiber glass tanks. I looked up Caswell and they use phenol novolac epoxy. Some research on this showed that this [called EPN in the chemical industry] is used in high performance applications requiring excellent chemical resistance, solvent resistance, and exceptional high temperature resistance.
The Caswell site also stated that this coating is resistant to alcohol fuels.
