Some of you may remember my discussion about my 63' CB77 that the "Previous Owner" put a CA77 motor in. He did have the good sense to keep the CB side cover with the kick starter. I've been gathering the parts to convert the motor to a CB motor and also had a deal going to get a CB motor also. I still hope to get the CB motor for my Super Hawk. In the meantime though, I've gotten a CB crankshaft (a very nice one), a head (it's a CL part though, so no tachometer yet), I've also got a deal going to get a nice set of coils for it. My Super Hawk is not in very good shape and is missing some main parts that are pretty costly and that is why I'm not even trying to do an actual restore. I don't have the front fender (will substitute a CB160 item that I do have), I don't have a seat (yet), No mufflers (will be using megaphones) no air cleaners (hope to be able to rejet and use pods), no carbs(hope to adapt a set of 450 carbs (got info on that from another fellow), Hope to have a 5sp trans (am told from a VERY reliable source that if I could find a 68' 350 twin complete trans (before factory improvements in 69', it would actually drop right in and would need the rear sprockets changed to raise that gear ratio because of the 350 trans being geared a bit low) The handlebars, throttle, switches and levers were missing ( I've already gotten the Super Hawk "Low Bars", a throttle, grips and I've levers on the way, gas tank mount were missing (should have them soon), I have the gastank but no panels or rubber pads ( I have located a set of panels w/ the rubber pads w/ no emblems) I'll come up with something suitable for the emblems. I hope to warm the motor up a bit with porting and polishing. That's about all I've got right now. Soon as I can, I'll get some pictures. Right now, it's not a very pretty site. I hope you all will continue to be patient, I've got several things in the fire right now. Just PART of my load is: the Super Hawk, A 77' CB750A, a 77' CB550K "Cafe Project", a 74' CB450K7, a 74' CL450K6, an 80' CB750K w/ sidecar, a CB350F, a CB400F and a host of others to do something with. Kinda sounds like a cross between a bike shop and a bike salvage! At any rate, I'm trying to juggle that along with the usual "Honey Do" stuff, what my daughter needs and some other things. Here's a of shot of the CL head I got.

Also got a nice pair of the low handlebars with a decent clutch cable.

Got a set of coils with brackets and the gas tank mounting hardware coming. Also got a
sidestand that's in fair shape and is fixable. BTW, the front fender, that I thought was a
CB160, turned out to be a Suzuki X-6 front fender. Same basic shape but the fender bracing
is a bit different and will call for some creative fabrication to mount it. That's it for now. Got
some more things I'm checking on and will elabrate later on.

Well, I got the coils w/brackets, the small motor side cover piece that completes covering the chain and the complete set of gas tank mount pieces. Also found a fellow that's gonna tear down a CB77 motor he has, that's not in too got looking shape externally (mainly the cylinder has a lot of broken fins) but might have other parts internally that aren't bad. And I can have what ever is good, for the shipping costs. The case, head and upper head cover piece looks to be good. Also found out that I have another possible 305 motor from a friend of a buddy, for a fair price. Getting the crankshaft bearing parts from Loud Mouse and with those and as soon as my 68' CB350 trans comes in, I'm setting down and start seeing about getting the lowerend together. Soon as I can, I'll get pictures.

I wanted to ask in the last post, do you have any idea what changes were made after '68 to negate a trans swap from the 350s? as I have several 350 5spds and a couple 360 6spds laying around but all are post '68. I know there was some mention of the 360 6spds on this board but no real specifics were given.
