Bearing replacment

Post by Githianki » Mon Dec 10, 2007 8:46 am

Is there a definitive mileage point that you should replace the bearings in the engine? In Bill Silvers book he says around 10k, if I remember reading right. I have broken down the engine, and all the bearings still spin pretty damn good, and I can't see any reason to replace them at this point after a good cleaning and re-lubing.

After cleaning I take a good look at the inside (best as I can) then lay them on their sides and slowly spin them. If I don't feel any clunks/bumps/grinding I lube and use them. ..........................lm
