spark problems
spark problemsI am new to working on motorcycles, and i was given a 1964 ca77 by a friend. I am not able to get it to spark. I have 13 volts at the point, and new spark plugs. Any suggestions?
You may have already tried this, but if not...
Try new spark plug boots - the original metal Honda units are known to give problems. Cut an inch off the old plug leads before fitting the new spark plug boots. Also make sure you are earthing the plug body against the motor when you are checking for the presence of spark. Check the points are clean and gapped correctly. Use a static timing light or test pencil to ensure the points are opening and closing. Good luck and let us know how you get on. Thanks.
