Gentlemen (persons)
I took apart the rear wheel on my CB 77 tonight and noted that the heads on the spokes did not match the depressions in the hub. Half of them were inserted into the depressions, and the other half were inserted from the outside and the head of the spoke was on the inside of the hub rim. I thought that this was odd, and probably the result of some PO redoing the wheel and just cutting corners. Then I took a look at the organ donor bike after I finished pulling all the spokes and nipples on that wheel, and it is the same. 1/2 the spoke heads are in the depressions, and 1/2 the heads are inserted from the interior of the hub and the shanks are protruding from the outside of the rim on the hub. Is this correct ? I would not think that 2 different bikes would have the same incorrect spoke pattern.
Also, If you need a really big plastic tub to wash parts in, Target has 45 gallon storage boxes with lids and rollers on the bottom for $9.99 on sale now. I bought one today. Buy one for you and one for the wife and pile up points.

CB 77 spoke pattern
I was using photobucket, which I understand is closed. Will have to sign up for something else before I can post pictures. I guess I could have worded my question better. Should all the spoke heads be on the outside of the hub in the recesses provided for them ? At this point, 1/2 of the spokes are inserted from the outside of the hub and the heads are in the recesses, and 1/2 are inserted from the inside of the hub and the spoke shaft emerges through the recess on the outside of the hub. On both bikes.
Thanks
Mike

Re: CB 77 spoke pattern
They are as they should be. Notice also the the inside ones go a different way than the outside ones. All wheels are that way. ...........................lm
You will also notice that you have 2 different spokes and one style goes from the inside and the other from the outside. ..................lm

CB77 spoke pattern
Thank you LM !!
This makes my task much easier. Now I need to sort out all the spokes, and replace the bad one or two, clean, and redo.
Onward and upward ( with some small detours sideways)
Thanks
Mike
