Man, I just about had a heart attack when I started looking into chroming. I need the tank panels and rims done. I'm in Toronto, and expensive city to be in for sure, but the first guy quoted me $190/ rim....which I thought was a lot, but the next guy quoted me $330/rim....made the first guy look inexpensive. First off, does that seem in line? The guys are smaller outfits, that will also fix up the dents in my side panels( very minimal). Some guys don't want to do any body work stuff.
So I am better to just buy a new rim from somewhere like Apex, or will the chrome just fall off that next year? Thanks
Chroming experience?

Re: Chroming experience?
I just picked up parts for a CB77. Everything other than the tank sides and the cost was $970.00. Each rim was $175. ..........................lm

Have you looked at Custom Chrome Plating www.customchromeplating.ca ? They are on Bellamy Rd. in Toronto (I'm a former Don Mills boy, but haven't personally tried them). Another option (if you want to stay local) is to log onto www.dotheton.com and post your question there about Toronto region chromers (it's a Canadian based discussion forum).
I'm sure due to environmental concerns, there probably aren't as many chromers as there used to be. I would've thought there'd be some places either north of the city (like Barrie) or out in Scarborough.

yep, I was worried about that. Found a guy today seems o.k., down to $175/rim...I might do that. Left him the tank side panels and I'll see how he does... $70 for one and $60 for the other. They both needed a couple of dings hammered out...thought the price seemed fair.
