Rear Bush Fork - compatible bikes ?Hi, back on the subject of swinging arm bushes again.
Just saw a set of repro bronze bushes expire on US Ebay ( about £30.00 but will not post to UK ) and looking about have found Simply Bearings in the UK do sintered oil soaked top hat bushes in 20x26x15mm at £14.00 for 5. Manual says OD = 26.04-26.08 mm ID = 20.05-20.08 mm ( repair limit 20.5 or more ) No detail for length but I measure an old one as 17mm; likewise no dimensions for the steel sleeve but I measure them at OD = 20mm ID = 14mm and Length = 50.25mm Can anyone see a reason why these shouldn't be used to replace the original Fibre ones ? If properly lubricated surely they would be as strong as fibre, and could be rubbed down to fit. No sign of the East European ones Dennis got in the past on UK Ebay. Phil Phil
Thanks for sharing that. I hadn't noticed them. That's probably cheaper than buying material and making your own (whch I have done several times). I'm going to get some and try them out. Plenty strong enough compared with the original phenolic ones. G

I've done the same. A lot easier modifying these than buying cored bronze tube and machining from scratch. I have a large adjustable reamer to do the bore after they've been fitted. G

I found this listing for one that seems to need only cutting to length.
https://www.123bearing.com/accessory-oi ... -26-30.php It doesn't appear to have a flange........

https://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/p1207 ... backstep=1 The flange is about 0.25mm thinner but that should not be a big problem. The bore is a little bit loose on the worn pin that I found but it feels good all round. ![]() Quite a big saving over the alternatives and much better than the horrible fibre thing that Honda used. ![]() G '60 C77 '60 C72 '62 C72 Dream '63 CL72
