Correct Tire size for my CA77 1966

Post by casamere » Mon Dec 31, 2018 4:13 am

Here we go again with this one as a guy from Washington has bought 3.00x16 to fit on his 67 Dream. This has developed into a debate about what is the correct size for the Dream.
I have read numerous times on this forum that the correct size is 3.25x16 and the 3.00x16 for the Benly 92/95.
A colleague of mine is insisting this forum is wrong and I should be fitting the 3.00x16.
I must admit I bought a classic ribbed tire in this size when I built the bike and it runs fine with no issues.
So can someone in the know please give me a definite answer to this.
Thanks everyone.

Here is an original front tyre off one of my early C72s

Definitely 3.25 x 16 as Brewsky says.
