Header hits the Front Arm
Header hits the Front Arm
I am rebuilding a 66 CA77 that my father-in-law didn't have the patience for anymore. The exhaust headers hit hte front arm when I turn. I have bought new headers from APEX Cycle but they do the same thing. Any suggestions would help??
This would be my guess. When installing the headers, they should be flat against the head, with the small donut gasket between. After that, the half collars should be installed on each side of each pipe (4). Then the finned flanges. I would guess that the collars have been installed before the pipes. Yes, I did the same thing before.

I feel stupid
Thanks, I am rebuilding after someone already did the tear down. That makes sense now that someone told me. I will try that. I have the engine running and the bike 90% back together, need to work on the clutch cable and the brakes, and give it a road test. Attached are pictures on how I got it from my father-in-law.
