Seadog, thanks for the link.

Just checked with a local supplier; and as I am not a commercial user, they could still sell me small amounts of base/ clear/ urethane paint. Prefer this as I would be able to cut and polish. Checked on the Imron number from LM and they are able to come up with a cross over match.

Thanks all for the great input.

I have done most of my own body work and paint. Unfortunately I do not have a lot of experience with waterborne systems. To make matters more difficult, waterborne paints seem to be the only available in my neck of the woods. Worse comes to worse I can always have the paint done at a friend's body shop.
I asked about the paint because I started a thread about a 2K paint for the DIY-guy that should be a lot better than any other spray-can paint for durability. There is a company linked in the thread that will custom make the 2K paint in colors and put it in a can.

With the info that Seadog posted you may be able to get it in the 2K spray. Not cheap, but doesn't require a clear coat either.

I used the 2K clear, and was impressed with the shine and overall hardness of the cured paint. It had a decent pattern and coverage. I cleared an upper fairing and a larger lower fairing with 1 can, and could have done another smaller part.

I have numerous pro paint guns and a big compressor, but wanted something a bit quicker and simpler.

Just an idea.
