Motor Paint for CB and CL 77 restore?

left as they were when i bought the bike, the right after sanding with 320 grit

here they are suspended on wire hangers where i painted them

and the engine after painting

don't worry, i wont be using that spark plug :p

the ones in there now are old and i just left em in for the painting figuring they'd mask it as well as tape.

I would strip/polish the fin edges for a real cool look... (it looked cool on 4 pots on my old '76 Z1).

Different; but that's what 305ing is all about - being the same (bike) but being different (personalising) about it. Not my taste, but hey, it floats someone's boat. As long as it's not choppered..... Now that is desecration!

Anyone tell me where I can get Krylon Dull Alu paint from please? Need it sending to Spain.

yeah, chopping is... a no no.

I'm even bugged by something like my enduro handle bars. Makes it look like a scrambler instead of a hawk.

I decided to paint her a matte blue with a blue vinyl seat to match. (Went to the intelli-gel store and pretended like i was going to buy a bed and got a few samples of the stuff for packing my new seat with haha) I'll look around for that paint you're looking for and let you know if i find anything out.
I figure, if my matte finish is sub par aesthetically, i'll just paint her again this winter the classic blue superhawks rolled out of the factory with.

Hey Gun, please post pics when she's finished and reassmbled. It sounds an interesting combo. Here's a pic I found on the 'net of another 'interesting' rebuild; does nothing for me, but somebody has committed a great deal of time doing this. Each to is own. The end result is a beautifully-finished candidate for the ugly-bug-ball! Love it or hate it, you have to admire the craftsmanship!

Regarding 'bars, for me: flat! I'd never seen a CB with anything else until I started looking worldwide on the 'net a few years back. In the UK I don't believe we ever had anything else. Consequently that's my personal pref. I don't even like the type II speedo cluster! It's a nostalgia thing.... I've seen bikes with clip-ons & Thruxtons (pseudo-clip-ons using the top yoke mounts), but flats is the only way the CB sets my pulse rate racing! A bit like a nice pair of legs in stilettos - women's legs, that is.....
