G; the main jet and the slide needle really don't have a lot to do with each other. the slide needle has it's own jet, which rarely is bad. that being said, the slide needle and it's jet need to be matched and this is the huge problem with most carb kits. they come with the WRONG needles and assume you will use your original needle jet, which will cause runability problems. the answer is to always reuse the original needle, so long as it doesn't have have obvious damage.
