I have a 64 305 CB77. I have replaced the right side crank bearing seal with a new one, the one I replaced looked new as well, but I still have an oil leak here. The back of the starting sprocket bushing area looks nice and smooth. Here's a couple pics of oil leak. Any suggestions? The seal is installed flush with outer case.
Thanks, Davomoto

Starting sprocket
Thanks for the reply! Nice and smooth. I do notice that it is rather shallow, as in not a lot of surface are in seal.

Re: Starting sprocket
Be sure it goes all the way up the tapered shaft with the rotor. .............lm

iol leak fixed
So, I installed another new seal, but this time I coated the outside of the seal with three bond 1104, the same sealer I use for crank cases, and installed it flush with crank case. Problem solved. One note, the seal I installed was a 6.5, instead of the standard 7.5 width. it was what I had, and it worked. Thanks for the input.
