power: transmission

Post by versuspop » Sat Apr 17, 2010 10:27 am

As I accelerate, there seems to be more power in the throttle than what is being transmitted to the wheels. This is a clutch adjustment, i'm sure, but what is going on, and what is the fix?? it is almost like the clutch is never fully disengaging. is this "clutch drag"?

Sounds like the opposite to me. "clutch slip"
Make sure there is some slack in your clutch cable at the lever before the cable pull gets harder.
Ride the bike at a steady speed under load then whack open the throttle and see if the engine speeds up but not the bike.

Hi,

If this was the case for a longer period, then check the clutch plated.
The plates will burn when slipping for a longer period, or might be damaged in an other way,
