difference between a CA77 / CA78

Post by fab » Fri Nov 11, 2005 4:11 pm

Can anyone tell me the difference between a CA77 / CA78 There appears to be very few around . Or did Honda just change their framing number System??? I've just been reading a book about the History of Honda &amp; didn't even mention a CA78.<br /> Thanks Peter.

Honda changed the numbering system and I believe the 78 denotes the USA bike after some year. ..........lm

I keep hearing questions about CA78's and I'm puzzled. American Honda doesn't even acknowledge the existance of the model. No microfiche. No mention on the electronic system either(fichefinder). Doesn't even get a mention in the Identification Guide. CA77 lists from 1960 to 63 for the Early model and 1963-1969 for the late. Only difference is the shape of the tank.
Non U.S. model perhaps? I have searched the net and the one thing in common with most of the hits I get is that they're mostly Canadian websites.

What you say is correct but just know that the CA78 was a numbering system used at some time in the middle of bike experts to the USA and the through to the last of them. It was used on the frame and not the engine. ..........lm
