How to Remove a Clutch Cable

How do you remove a clutch cable from the transmission of a CA78? It looks like there is a small plate where the cable enters the crankcase, does that come off somehow? Or do I have to take off the side cover? I will also have to install a new cable as well.

Remove the side cover.
