Front engine sprocket

Post by SMBH » Sun Dec 08, 2013 5:49 am

Hi I have just taken off the right side cover and found side play in the 15T engine sproket it seems the sprocket is too thin it fits the splines ok but has a little side play.

Did lot of searching and read the Bill Silvers manuals and come up with nothing only Honda change the sprockets.

Can any one tell me the part number for a 1964 CB77 Engine number CB72E 102472

Last question is it safe to ride with this slight side play in the sprocket the last owner must have riden it with this play in it.

Thanks

Sprockets for CB72's

Yes, side play is normal. There are good aftermarket sprokets around. 530 X 15T is stock & 32T rear came on CB72's.

Thanks mate I can now go and buy a beer.
