Trouble starting a newly tuned CA72.
Trouble starting a newly tuned CA72.Hey everybody, just brought home a '66 CA72. Was just running last year and got parked, it was clean as a whistle inside and someone clearly took good care of the mainteance.
I put new plugs in, set the point to .35mm and corrected the advancement, set all the valves to .004 inches, set the float height to 26.5mm, blew out all the jet passages and turned (what I think is) the air screw to 1 and 1/4 out. Fresh oil in, brand new battery, all the lights work, the starter works, and she should be good to go. I'm getting fuel into the carb just fine but whether I kick her or push button I cannot for the life of me get it to fire. I've gotten it to hiccup and pop a few times, even had it aaaaalmost start and run, but each time no luck. Any suggestions? The plugs smell lightly of gasoline, I've got fuel flow, awesome blue fat spark on both plugs, etc. Thanks!
