original seat color?

Post by 206rider » Tue Jan 24, 2012 9:56 pm

Hello all,
I am wondering if someone knows how my blue '63 CA72 came to have a red seat. Were they sent from the factory that way, did the dealer do it as a gimmick or did the previous owner replace the original? I want to re-cover my seat but haven't decided which color. I have only seen blue Dreams with white or black seats. Any ideas?

Wasn't it a case where they were delivered with different colored seats?

My blue '62 that I bought around '64 or so had the blue seat, and I'm sure the P.O. didn't change it. Maybe the dealers had both colors and put on what you wanted? I also have a beater '62 currently and it has the red seat.

A period brochure. I have seen a blue one with blue seat, too.
